Faculty Member Recruitment Announcement

A position is open for an Assistant Professor (Doctoral Faculty Member) in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at our University.
In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, Article 48 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657, and the relevant articles of the “Regulation on the Promotion and Appointment to Faculty Membership” and the “Regulation on the Appointment and Promotion of Boğaziçi University Faculty Members,” an Assistant Professor will be recruited.

Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Professor are required to submit: an application petition, a photocopy of their ID card, curriculum vitae, copies of postgraduate theses, scientific studies and publications, congress and conference papers, a list of citations to their works, a list of courses taught, and a list of supervised master’s and doctoral theses. These documents must be submitted in a single USB drive to the relevant Faculty Dean’s Office within 60 days from the publication date of this announcement.

For first-time applications to faculty positions at our University, candidates must provide documentation proving that they meet at least one of the foreign language requirements specified in Article 8, paragraph 7 of the “Regulation on the Principles to be Followed in Foreign Language Education and Teaching and in Conducting Education in a Foreign Language in Higher Education Institutions.”

Applications are invited for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor at the Faculties and Institutes of our University.
In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, Article 48 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657, and the relevant articles of the “Regulation on the Promotion and Appointment to Faculty Membership” and the “Regulation on the Appointment and Promotion of Boğaziçi University Faculty Members,” Professors, Associate Professors (full-time), and Assistant Professors will be recruited.

Candidates applying for Professor positions must submit: an application petition, a photocopy of their ID card, curriculum vitae, copies of postgraduate theses, scientific publications, congress and conference papers, a list of citations, a list of supervised doctoral and master’s theses (completed and ongoing), a list of courses taught, a list of research projects conducted, contributions to the institutionalization of research activities, contributions to the university’s educational and research activities through external resources, and information on administrative duties. These documents must be provided on a single USB drive and submitted to the Department of Personnel Affairs within 15 days of the announcement date.

Candidates applying for Associate Professor positions must submit: an application petition, a photocopy of their ID card, curriculum vitae, a copy of their Associate Professorship certificate issued by the Inter-University Council, copies of postgraduate theses, scientific publications, congress and conference papers, a list of citations, a list of supervised theses (completed and ongoing), a list of courses taught, a list of research projects conducted, contributions to institutionalization of research activities, details on external funding and administrative duties. These documents must also be submitted on a single USB drive to the Department of Personnel Affairs within 15 days of the announcement date.

Candidates applying for Assistant Professor positions must submit: an application petition, a photocopy of their ID card, curriculum vitae, copies of postgraduate theses, scientific publications, congress and conference papers, a list of citations, a list of courses taught, and a list of supervised master’s and doctoral theses (if applicable). These documents must be submitted on a single USB drive to the relevant Faculty Dean’s Office within 15 days of the announcement date.

For all faculty member applications, documentation must be provided showing that the applicant meets at least one of the conditions specified in Article 8, paragraph 7 of the “Regulation on the Principles to be Followed in Foreign Language Education and Teaching and in Conducting Education in a Foreign Language in Higher Education Institutions.”

(a) Must hold a Ph.D. in Comparative Cultural Studies or a closely related field; must have publications in the field of comparative cultural studies in journals indexed in the AHCI Q1 category.

(b) Must hold a Ph.D. in one of the subfields of Education; must have graduated from a university ranked within the top 100 worldwide in Education according to the 2024 QS, THE, or USNews rankings; must have completed associate professorship studies in Early Childhood Education; must have publications in SSCI-indexed journals on early literacy skills and cognitive development in early childhood education.

(c) Must hold a Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education or a related field and must have graduated from a university ranked within the top 100 worldwide in Education according to the 2024 QS, THE, or USNews rankings; must have publications in SSCI-indexed journals on socioeconomic disadvantage, early intervention practices, language development, and early literacy skills.

(d) Must hold a Ph.D. in English Language Education or Applied Linguistics and must have graduated from a university ranked within the top 100 worldwide in Education according to the 2024 QS, THE, or USNews rankings; must have publications in SSCI-indexed journals in the field of language loss among bilingual and multilingual individuals.

(e) Must hold a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and must have graduated from a university ranked within the top 100 worldwide in Education according to the 2024 QS, THE, or USNews rankings; must have publications in SSCI-indexed journals in the field of instructional technologies.

(f) Must hold bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in Law; must have graduated from a university ranked within the top 100 worldwide in Law according to the 2024 QS, THE, or USNews rankings; must have publications in SSCI, ESCI, or Scopus-indexed journals in the field of Civil Law.

(g) Must hold a Ph.D. in Turkish Language and Literature or a related field and must have graduated from a university ranked within the top 100 worldwide in Arts and Humanities according to the 2024 QS, THE, or USNews rankings; must have completed associate professorship studies in Classical Turkish Literature; must have publications in AHCI or SSCI-indexed journals on Turkish writing traditions and literary works.

(h) Must hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and must have graduated from a university ranked within the top 200 worldwide in Engineering according to the 2024 QS, THE, or USNews rankings; must have publications in SCIE-indexed Q1 journals in the field of reversed engineering and structural mechanics.

(i) Must hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and must have graduated from a university ranked within the top 200 worldwide in Engineering according to the 2024 QS, THE, or USNews rankings; must have publications in SCIE-indexed Q1 journals in the field of geomechanics.
